The Model G-EXT is a sump designed for an EXTernal pump. The layout allows for a common return zone that funnels to a return pump at one end of the sump. 

Skimmer section on left.  Refugium section front right.  Return zone in center that runs behind refugium to bulkhead on right end near back of sump.
